The Financial Literacy & Math Program is designed to educate and train all students on the importance of being fiscally responsible and mathematically astute to avoid unmanageable debt. Our Financial Literacy & Math program was created to engage students with real-world applications. We make sure that everyone who attends our program leaves feeling confident about topics concerning money management with a foundation built on Mathematics.

                 Math Making Cents
 

A. Educational

      1.  On High School & College levels, we will have educational sessions. These sessions will provide educational training in financial literacy with a foundation of Math. Black Wall Street Charlotte understands that in order for the student teams to prepare for the Financial Literacy & Math Bowl, they must be given the opportunity with proper education. Successful athletes gain success after receiving proper training and guidance first.

B.  Schedule

      1.  Educational Instruction Sessions

           A.  September –  December of current school year.

      2.  School Competitions: After the Educational Sessions are complete, then the students in each school will be put into teams to compete on the school level. The winning team will qualify to compete on the Citywide Level in the Financial Literacy & Math Bowl.

           A.  January & February of current school year.

      3.  Financial Literacy & Math Bowl: This event will be an all-day competition, starting with Playoff rounds participated by the winning teams from each school. The winners will progress through the rounds, where the climax will be the “Financial Literacy & Math Super Bowl”.

           A.  Event to take place in April of current school year.

           B.  Representatives of the NFL, NBA, NASCAR, as well as celebrities and representatives from Microsoft, Visa and other corporations will be on hand as coaches and cheerleaders, to encourage and hype up this event for the young people. Our sponsor partners will provide technology, scholarships and awards for the winning teams.
